Hello, my name is Marina Mustafa.
I’m a Malaysian cookbook author, with many of my projects focusing enriching family and culture. I first started my journey into the culinary industry in 1992 when my sisters and I opened Cafe Dania that served continental food and ran for a good fourteen years.
In 2009, with the encouragement of my family, I self-published my first cookbook, Memorable Recipes for Malay Occasions that drew out Malay culture, its customs and the food we serve to celebrate those life milestones. This started me on a whirlwind journey down what I now believe is my career.
I have since contributed food-writing articles for magazines, newspapers and occasionally host my own cooking shows across different media. In 2011, I opened up my own cooking school called Villa 16 that ran for two years. Nowadays, I am busy working with different companies and perform cooking demonstrations & workshops nationwide. To date, I have written twelve cookbooks in both Malay and English languages.
When I'm not busy cooking, writing and writing about cooking, I spend time being a full-time mother to my four wonderful children, and a husband I love cooking for.
